  • Leeds is one of the country's busiest stations, and a major station for national rail transport. We're connected to nearly every major city in the UK with speedy services from London run by LNER.

    First Transpennine Express services provide us with great links to Manchester, Liverpool, York and Edinburgh and Cross Country connect us to the centres of both Bristol and Birmingham.

    Our speedy connection to London makes Leeds a great option for travelling from mainland Europe on the Eurostar via London St. Pancras.

    The museum is approximately 20 to 25 minutes walk from Leeds railway station (approximately 1.3 kilometres/0.8 miles) or 5 minutes by Taxi.

  • Use Sat NAV LS10 1LE which will take you to the carpark next to Royal Armouries called Citipark

    FROM THE M62 EASTBOUND

    Exit M62 at junction 27. Follow the M621 until junction 4. Use the left lane to merge onto A61 and follow

    signs for Harrogate A61. Use the left lane to merge left onto Hunslet Road/A61. Use the 2nd from the right lane to turn right onto South Accommodation Road/A61. At the roundabout, take the Ist exit onto Clarence Road. Turn right onto Armouries Drive.

    FROM THE M62 WESTBOUND

    Head east on M62 & exit at junction 27. Follow M621 until junction 3, onto Victoria Road. Turn right onto Great Wilson

    Street. Continue onto Hunslet Lane.

    Turn right at Sayner Road and then left onto Chadwick Street. Turn right onto Armouries Drive.

    Disabled Parking

    Blue badge holders are permitted to park on Armouries drive free of charge. Parking in this location is subject to availability so please call ahead on +44 113 220 1990 to enquire.

    Disabled passengers arriving by taxis or alternative vehicles may disembark on museum square.

    Alternatively, the nearest Blue Badge disabled parking bay is located Armouries drive in the multi-story car park

  • The venue has 20 cycle parking bays available for use free of charge as well as a cycle repair kit on Armouries Drive.

  • Leeds dock water taxis run every 15 minutes from Granary Wharf (just by the new South entrance of Leeds train station) . Journeys take approximately 10 minutes and cost £2 per person, children 5 years and under travel free.

    Return journeys to Granary Wharf (Leeds railway station south entrance) run from Leeds Dock until 18:00.

  • It is a 20/23 minute walk from Leeds Train Station, South Exit and will be well signposted.

  • Landing at Leeds Bradford Airport leaves travellers with just 8 miles of their journey left until they're in the city centre. There is a regular Flyer Bus, or a great taxi service, both of which can have you in the heart of the city within 30 minutes.

    The Flyer Bus runs daily from around 5:10am until midnight with fares starting from £4 per person. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

    Arrow Cars is the official taxi company for Leeds Bradford Airport and they have a kiosk just outside of the arrivals hall. The journey takes around 30 minutes and you can pre-book a journey on their website or book on arrival at the airport.

    Car Hire also has a dedicated car rental centre with options available from Enterprise, Hertz and Avis.

  • Manchester airport is one of the UK's busiest airports, with over 23 million passengers passing through every year. With over 160 connections, Manchester airport is a great link between Leeds and a range of destinations.

     Direct trains operate regularly to Leeds Train Station with the average journey time ranging from 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. 

    Arrow Taxis are the official private hire partner of Manchester airport. There are manned desks in the arrivals hall of each terminal and in the train station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes and a taxi costs around £100. 

    Car Hire is also available in the Car Rental Village which can be accessed by a free shuttle every 10 minutes. Providers available here include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Enterprise, Hertz and Sixt.
